Contemporary Bridal Gowns "Lucetta"

An elegant strapless corseted bodice with asymmetric encrusted decoration combining guipure and chantilly gold lace with beadwork emboidery.
Inspired by period costume, the cartridge-pleated skirt provides a unique eye-catching detail.
This gown an be constructed in virtually any colour and from a huge range of fabrics. Shown above in a violet/gold shot silk dupion with gold. Brides can pick a particular base shade of silk dupion (from around 400!)and then choose from my vast collection of laces - antique and modern, silver, gold, black......plus unique trims and beadwork possibilities held here at the studio. This results in a very individualised one-off gown, based on the "Lucetta" shape.

Slightly bizarrely, with all the hundreds of shades of silk I have available, this year two brides were inspired to this style in identical shades, within a matter of weeks of each other! (Fortunately, for my sanity, one requested a few variations in the embroidery detailing). When a dancer wanted a tutu in the same fabric a short while later, again embellished in gold, I thought she was pulling my leg! However, I fully understood what was inspiring them. This is a very unusual fabric (see "Beatrix" gown also in this section) - once seen, nothing else comes close. It is actually a bright turquoise silk woven with gold, but it reads differently inside, outside - in natural or artifical light, taking on tones of bright green, gold and blue. Challenging to capture on a photograph! Swatches available to anyone who is tempted.

Another client (shown below) chose to have the corset part of the "Lucetta" design as a seperate item, combined with a straight skirt. She chose a soft shade of teal green silk which toned beautifully with her embellishments of lilac and soft pink beadwork.
