Couture Bridal Gowns "La Belle Dame" -
variation with sleeves

soft grey-blue and ivory silk corseted gownwith lace and beading embellishments front view of the patchwork style dress in shades of blue, grey and ivory silk

This variation of the "La Belle Dame" design was cut over a perfectly fitting, made-to-measure inner corset. The client required a different neckline to the original (see "Contemporary" index page) and long sleeves. Several possibilities were considered: lace sleeves, extending the patchwork effect onto the actual sleeve and a flared cuff. The chosen option fitted the arm closely and was laced at the cuff - connecting visually with the back lacing of the main gown.

The various blues and grey tones of the bride's gown were reflected in the attire of the entire bridal party; the cream by her lilies.

One of the original design options; a small pouch bag, made to match; and the preliminary toile of the dress, cut over the boned corset.
